The Eberhard Contodat (Ref. 41156.05) debuted in 2025 as part of the modern Contodat Automatic collection, a contemporary revival of an iconic 1970s Eberhard & Co. chronograph design. This reinterpretation transforms the original chronograph architecture into a refined automatic time-and-date wristwatch, preserving the balanced proportions and distinctive styling of the vintage reference.
The stainless-steel case features a polished bezel, a domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, and a screw-down crown for everyday durability. On the reverse, a screwed steel case back engraved with golden details and the Latin inscription “UBI TU IBI EGO” (“Where you are, there I am”) underscores Eberhard’s devotion to heritage craftsmanship. The integrated stainless-steel bracelet, alternating between polished and satin-brushed finishes, is secured by Eberhard’s patented 2CLICK® deployant clasp.
The black dial combines a sunburst-finished center with an azuré-textured periphery, producing a dynamic play of light reminiscent of 1970s styling. Rhodium-plated skeletonized baton hands and applied luminous hour markers ensure optimal legibility, while the orange-accented small seconds hand adds a subtle hint of color. A trapezoidal date window with an applied metallic frame sits at 3 o’clock, completing the symmetrical layout.
At its heart beats the automatic Caliber SW290-1, offering hours, minutes, small seconds, and date - a modern movement that honors Eberhard’s tradition of precision and design excellence.
