Originally produced exclusively as a chronograph, the new Contodat Automatic translates the vintage design’s distinctive character into a modern, time-and-date format while maintaining its sporty architectural presence. The stainless-steel case features a polished bezel, domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, and a screw-down crown for enhanced resilience. Its screwed steel case back, engraved with golden details and the Latin phrase “UBI TU IBI EGO” (“Where you are, there I am”), underscores the brand’s artisanal tradition. The integrated stainless-steel bracelet, combining polished and satin-finished links, is equipped with Eberhard’s patented 2CLICK® deployant clasp for comfort and security. The blue dial presents a sunburst central finish surrounded by an azuré outer ring, delivering a dynamic play of light and texture. Rhodium-plated, partially skeletonized baton hands and applied hour markers filled with luminous material ensure legibility, while the orange small-seconds hand at 9 o’clock adds a vivid contrast. The trapezoidal date window at 3 o’clock, framed in metal, recalls the original Contodat aesthetic. Inside, the watch houses the self-winding Caliber SW290-1, displaying hours, minutes, small seconds, and date, combining robust Swiss engineering with Eberhard’s timeless design ethos.
