The IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 “722 Edition” (Ref. IW3883-08) was introduced in 2025 as a limited edition of 120 pieces, celebrating the legendary Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “722” — the car driven to victory by Stirling Moss and Denis Jenkinson in the 1955 Mille Miglia. This rare chronograph fuses IWC’s aviation heritage with motorsport history in a design defined by precision, performance, and authenticity.
The 41 mm case is made from lightweight titanium, measuring 14.7 mm in height, and combines exceptional strength with comfort. A screwed-in crown and sapphire crystals on both sides ensure durability and water resistance up to 100 meters.
The highlight of this special edition is its dial, crafted from original magnesium components salvaged from the body of the actual Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR 722. This material connection to the legendary race car gives each piece a unique patina and unmistakable character. The design remains true to the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph aesthetic, emphasizing legibility and functionality.
At its core is the IWC-manufactured Calibre 69385, an automatic column-wheel chronograph with a date display and a 46-hour power reserve, visible through the transparent case back.
The watch is completed with a black strap and a titanium clasp, merging endurance-grade engineering with timeless elegance - a fitting tribute to one of racing’s most iconic machines.
