Description
Introduced in 2025, the Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon (Ref. 310.92.44.51.01.003) represents the purest expression of the Black Edition aesthetic—technical, monochromatic, and unmistakably modern. The 44.25 mm case, crafted in polished and brushed black ceramic, measures 15.09 mm in thickness, 50 mm lug-to-lug, and 21 mm between the lugs. Its brushed black ceramic bezel bears a laser-engraved tachymeter scale filled with black Grand Feu enamel, offering a stealthy yet refined finish. Both front and back are protected by sapphire crystals with anti-reflective treatment, and the watch is water-resistant to 50 meters.
The laser sand-blasted ceramic dial continues the dark theme, featuring small seconds at 9 o’clock, a combined 60-minute and 12-hour recorder at 3 o’clock, and a date aperture at 6 o’clock. The hands and bevelled hour markers are entirely blackened and filled with black Super-LumiNova, emitting a green glow in darkness for optimal legibility.
Inside ticks the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900 (Black Edition), a self-winding column-wheel chronograph certified by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. Operating at 4 Hz, it incorporates a silicon balance spring, twin barrels mounted in series, and a time-zone function, providing a 60-hour power reserve. The matte-blackened rotor, main plate, and bridges with black-varnished engravings are visible through the sapphire caseback—an exquisite mechanical landscape that mirrors the Moon’s dark side.
This reference is completed with a black coated nylon fabric strap lined with rubber, secured by a ceramic foldover clasp featuring a ceramised titanium frame-spring system. The result is a contemporary Moonwatch that fuses high-end chronometric performance with an all-black, space-inspired design.
