Introduced in 2025, the Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Grey Side of the Moon (Ref. 310.92.44.50.06.002) redefines lunar-inspired watchmaking with a bold use of plasma-treated ceramic. The 44.25 mm case, crafted from polished and brushed grey ceramic, measures 12.97 mm thick and 50 mm lug-to-lug. Its brushed grey ceramic bezel features a laser-engraved tachymeter scale filled with white Super-LumiNova, while water resistance is rated to 50 meters.
The skeletonised grey anodised aluminium dial reveals small seconds at 9 o’clock, a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, and a 12-hour totaliser at 6 o’clock. The Moonwatch-style hands and applied hour markers are grey-coated and filled with Super-LumiNova, glowing green in low light. Sapphire crystals on both sides ensure full visibility of Omega’s meticulous detailing.
Inside, the hand-wound Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869—certified by METAS and resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss—powers the watch. Its laser-ablated main plate and bridges mimic the lunar surface: the near side visible through the dial, and the far side through the transparent caseback, which also bears the engraving “THE MOON IS ESSENTIALLY GREY”—a tribute to Apollo 8 astronaut Jim Lovell. Operating at 3 Hz with a 50-hour power reserve, the movement exemplifies Omega’s mastery of both design and innovation.
Completing the look, the watch comes fitted with a grey-coated nylon fabric strap lined with black rubber, fastened by a ceramic foldover clasp featuring a ceramised titanium frame-spring. A striking combination of technology, precision, and poetic lunar inspiration.
